I designed this fan mount with optimal air flow in mind. With this mount, the fan is positioned so that it is close to and aimed directly at the motor. The angle of the fan works in conjunction with the air passing through the body (from front to rear) to provide optimal cooling while driving. Dimensionally, it is based off of the stock chassis brace (fits the lay-down and lay-back transmission only), so it is a direct fit replacement using the stock hardware. The mount is 3D printed, via laser sintered nylon, by Jaws Tec. This is the V2 version of my fan mount. The fan has been moved toward the pinion gear to make more room for the solder tabs. For reference, the motor shown is a Hobbywing G4. I race on an off-road carpet track and having a fan has allowed me to gear up a couple more teeth while keeping my temps down. Plus, I wired my fan directly to the battery input on my ESC, so it is on whenever the battery is plugged in, allowing me to turn off the ESC and still leave the fan running after I race for faster cool down. NOTE: Due to the fan's close proximity with the motor, a motor that exhibits strong external magnetism may cause interference with the fan motor, leading to the fan not spinning, or only spinning when the motor is running or the stator is in a certain location. Because there are so many variables, I cannot guarantee that this fan mount will work with every motor and/or setup.
